Industry Experts
We have designed and built a lot of our own specialist manufacturing equipment - from pre expanders and block moulders, to autocad cutting equipment - to suit the specific requirements of New Zealand's building and construction market. We've also recently made significant investments into additional state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment to expand our capabilities and ensure we can service the growing requirements of our Kiwi customers. This includes the purchase of our very own Koolfoam Solid Eco Pod manufacturing line that allows us to repurpose clean polystyrene waste into new products and keep waste from landfill.
Key Features:
- Purpose-built Auckland facilities with latest technology for high-quality production
- Zero-waste manufacturing using recycled materials up to 50% in eco products
- Custom solutions tailored for Kiwi construction from homes to infrastructure

Let's Get Started
Committed to Sustainable EPS Solutions
Koolfoam prioritises environmental responsibility through clear goals: achieving zero EPS waste to landfill, producing durable long-term products like insulating materials, void forms, and Koolfoam Geofoam, reducing reliance on oil-based virgin raw materials, and using only Poly FR Fire Retardant materials .
The company runs a comprehensive Recycling Collection Programme integrated into every project, providing free recycling bags to sites for polystyrene waste collection. Filled bags return to facilities for repurposing, recycling 350-400 cubic metres of EPS waste monthly.
Recovered EPS undergoes two main processes: blending, where ground scraps mix with virgin material to form SL grade blocks re-cut into shapes like the Koolfoam Solid Eco Pod; or compaction, crushing air out to create ingots reduced 40 times in volume for reuse in products such as coat hangers and picture frames.
Our Commitment
- Reduce: We offer a pre-cut service to reduce EPS waste on site.
- Recover: We collect clean EPS waste from our customers for recycling.
- Recycle: We recycle recovered EPS waste into new Koolfoam products, or ingots for use in other consumer goods.

Tauranga Eastern Link, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
The Tauranga Eastern Link project is a section of State Highway 2 stretching 21km - from Te Maunga, to the SH2/SH33 roundabout near Paengaroa. The project involved the construction of a 21km-long, four lane, median-divided highway.

- Refurbishing and widening of the existing 5.8km highway from Te Maunga to the Domain Road intersection
- Construction of a new 15.5km highway from Domain Road to Paengaroa
- Development of three intersections
- Building of seven bridges, including the Kaituna River bridge, which is 186m in length
- Approximately 550,000 square metres of new road
- We supported this complex project through the manufacture and delivery of 42,000m3 of Koolfoam Geofoam over an 11-month period, without any compromise to the delivery of our standard expanded polystyrene requirements.
